What's at the festival?
With more than 80 bands playing over five days in seven venues, each with its own distinct character and line-up of artists, you can take you pick of the stages and experience the whole diverse range of entertainment the festival is famed for.
Main Stage
The large orbit stage on the Main Lawn is where Larmer Tree-goers gather to see the festival’s headline acts. With a beautiful backdrop of illuminated trees, macaws swooping overhead and peacocks wandering freely you couldn’t ask for a more stunning setting to hear some great music from all four corners of the globe.
Garden Stage
The Singing Theatre, as it was originally named in the 1880s, is an iconic, spectacular wooden stage with a beautifully painted backdrop where musicians have performed for well over 120 years. Thomas Hardy spent many summer evenings enjoying music and theatre from this unique stage. You can expect live music and DJs performing here throughout the festival.
Big Top
Hosting various music and dance workshops by day and exploding at night with some of the festival’s rawest, most energetic and downright funky live bands.
The ARC
Buy a drink in the Village Bar right next door, grab a chair and get up close and personal with some of the best acoustic musicians around framed perfectly in an intimate small-club atmosphere. Late in the evening the ARC changes pace and plays host to The Comedy Club where you can enjoy some of the greatest comedy acts from the thriving British and world comedy circuit.
Club Larmer
Housed in a beautiful Victorian tea-room this is a theatre and talk venue during the day, but when night falls festival-goers head here for DJs spinning the best of global grooves, reggae, funk, hip hop and classic disco to keep you dancing ’til the early hours. The well-stocked bar is open at night and the club’s café will keep you replenished with hot and cold drinks and some delicious cakes, day and night.
The Social
During the day this is the place to chill, read the papers, play Snakes ‘n’ Ladders, listen to some impromptu acoustic music or simply get a drink, flop down and just be! As day turns to night The Social slowly morphs into a venue for some of the best festival bands and DJs to get you on your feet and dancing ‘till the wee small hours.
Flag Circle
Here you will be able to enjoy some fantastic street theatre shows. Located in the Village, the Flag Circle is the place to gather round for some hilarious, engaging and sometimes downright weird performances. Watch out for other street theatre performances around the rest of the festival site.
