Our Partners...
We'd like to introduce you to the people we've been working in partnership with to the make Larmer Tree such a special event!
Songlines magazine first started working with Larmer Tree in 2004. We didn't really know what to expect from the festival, despite recommendations, but once we arrived on site, on that memorable mid-July sunny afternoon, we soon realised what all the fuss and excitement was about. We were welcomed by roaming peacocks and swooping macaws, beautiful landscaped gardens and of course, a friendly and enthusiastic James Shepard, decked out in his traditional gaming hat.
James and Julia (Safe) have created a very unique atmosphere at Larmer Tree, raising the bar every year when it comes to the programme and artists. We offered to organise an artist CD signing area within the Songlines tent which went down extremely well with festival goers, so much so that we've done it every year since and we'll be doing it again this year. CD signing session highlights over the years include Afro Celts in our first year, where festival goers queued for over an hour to get their CDs signed and last year Ozomatli, having finished their set, did their traditional procession from the main stage, with most of the audience in tow, all the way up to the Songlines tent. Not many CDs were signed but the atmosphere was electric!
We're already counting the days down to our 8th year at Larmer Tree and if you're not familiar with Songlines, pop by our stall over the festival and read the latest issue. Or if you just can't wait, check out our free interactive sampler at www.songlines.co.uk/interactive.

Fudges
We are really pleased to welcome Dorset Village Bakery, the makers of the uber-fantastic Fudges range, as our 'Official Biscuit Partner'. Made in Dorset their scrumptious cakes and delicious savoury and sweet biscuits are still passionately crafted by the third generation of the Fudge family using only the finest ingredients to create an outstanding range that's still 'made the Fudges way'.
AFO
The Association of Festival Organisers came into being in 1987 when half a dozen folk festival organisers gathered together to chew over the development of the scene, swap a few ideas and consider festival’s progress. Now, with 150 members, the Association encompasses folk roots, acoustic music and jazz festivals nationwide.
We would consider ourselves, an organisation in partnership with each other and, as the General Secretary, I am delighted that Larmer Tree Festival is a member and indeed one of our partners. James and Julia readily share their experience of Larmer Tree Festival with other organisers, some just starting out, others have been in the business for many years and, in turn, they receive new ideas, opportunities for networking and sharing of experience with many others.
The AFO is about partnership and Larmer Tree Festival is a key festival in the circuit.
