Carnival News...

posted on 11/05/2012

This year, we’re celebrating the many colours and cultures reflected in the past and present music at Larmer Tree from Asia to Africa, Europe to South America and Oceania! From Friday to Sunday you can join the culture exchange and help to create bright and beautiful costumes, banners and a main figurehead to show off in Sunday’s ever-popular carnival procession!

Joining two childrens’ groups, an adult group and YouthZone travellers in the procession on Sunday afternoon are some fantastic carnival bands - Magic Drum Orchestra, Mother Ukers, Sambatastic, Inta Africa in an explosion of culture, colour, sound, and movement around the festival! Check out our What Else pages for details of all the group themes.  Find out more here.

Roots Manuva headlines Sunday

posted on 01/05/2012

We’re elated to announce our final headliner is MOBO award winning Roots Manuva.  Ending this year’s festival with an explosive, witty, sceptical mix of reggae, dub, electronica and gospel, we’re extremely excited about seeing Roots on Sunday evening.  Hailed as the voice of urban Britain, he’ll bring his own ‘real’ sound to the Main Stage, playing hits from his five albums including his latest, the critically acclaimed 4everevolution.  Roots joins fellow headliners Paloma Faith, Amadou & Mariam, Jools Holland and Levellers, in what is a class line-up.  See below for more acts just booked.  So don’t miss out, buy your tickets today!
